A massage is my reward for how hard I’ve busted my hump all week. Not only did I do the dreaded “Nine-to-Fiver”, but I’ve also tackled housework, walked my 100lb. dog to the park (or you could say HE walked ME), and carried 200 lbs. of groceries upstairs, in the snow, both ways, wah, wah, wah… You get the idea. Other than spring cleaning out the garage on Saturday morning, it’s generally been a typical week in my book. Bottom line, my body aches and I am ready for some “Me Time”.

This place was scented with a warm and soothing fragrance, played soft subtle sounds over the speakers in the lobby and dimmed serene lighting throughout. None of the patrons feel like they have to socialize. We’re all there for the same reason, to relax. BUT, there are no robes or slippers! Sitting in my jeans and flip flops waiting for my appointment just really kills it. Putting on a long cozy robe feels like “home in front of the fire place time” for me. A bathrobe would have been the cherry atop the massage treatment sundae. A bathrobe provides a very simple luxury of comfort, it prepares my mind and body for what is it to come. It warms my soul and assures that I’m safe and fully covered in this foreign place.

I have had friends describe to me their spa experiences. One of the first things they’ll say, “Oh, they give you this great robe to slip on….”. It is literally ALWAYS a highlight.
